THE Queenstown Producers Cooperative Society Limited, on the Essequibo Coast, Registered Number 1018, was resuscitated at a meeting on May 12, following the intervention of Chief Cooperatives Officer, Mr. Abdool Karim Jabbar. The Secretary, Mr. Maxwell Bridgemohan reported that the members present elected  Mr. Gladstone Worrell as Organising Secretary; Mr. Lloyd Layne as Treasurer and Mr. John Paul, Mr. Kaydar Persaud and Mr. Arno Mc Lalman on the Committee.
Bridgemohan said the financial position of the organization will be resolved at the next meeting, which all members are expected to attend.
However, he said the Society, currently, has $54,000 on hand.
Guyana Rice Development Board (GRDB) Extension Officer, Mr. Lavildra Deonarine, who was also in attendance, undertook to get personnel from his agency and Rice Producers Association (RPA) to visit the Society land holdings.
Members of the Queenstown Society thanked the government for intervening in its affairs and helping to resuscitate it.
