Defendant’s behaviour upbraided after parties settle abusive matter out of court

DHARMESHWAR Reddy is alleged to have used abusive language to Harripaul Singh on May 21 at Cove & John village, East Coast Demerara, and consequently appeared before Sparendaam Magistrate Alex Moore yesterday (when East Coast matters were forwarded to the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court), where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The two men, however, indicated that they did not wish to give evidence against each other because they had settled the matter out of court; and the magistrate dismissed the matter after cautioning Reddy about his behaviour.
