POLICE have charged three men with the recent ‘Corn Bread’ beer garden murder. Stephen Campbell, Fazal Moore and Ray Yukum appeared before Magistrate, Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday on the indictable charge, which said they unlawfully killed Glen Xavier on May 7, at D’Urban Street, Newburg, Georgetown.
It is alleged that the capital offence was committed during the course of a robbery, in which the victim was the gold miner.
Campbell told the court he was recently released on bail, following a robbery charge and police pinned the murder on him.
Yukum, 39, also has other cases pending.
Together with Moore, they all will be back in court today, for fixture of their case by Acting Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
The victim and another man, Orin John, were shot and robbed while they were drinking at Corn Bread Beer Garden and their attackers fled on two CG motorbikes.
The deceased, who suffered gunshot wounds to his chest and left hand, succumbed, on May 10, at Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH).
