‘Zapper Man’ softball at Enmore on Saturday

WITH the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T) countrywide 10/10 softball competition now completed, teams from across the country will be looking for every opportunity to fine-tune their skills ahead of the fourth edition next year. As such, Rajan ‘Zapper Man’ Tiwari is taking the first jump at providing that platform, as he has planned an Indian Arrival Floodlight competition for this Saturday at the Enmore Community Centre ground.
Interested teams will have to pay an entrance fee of $15 000 each, with the champions walking away with $200 000 and the runner-up 50 000 in the five-over, 11-a-side competition which is set to bowl off at 16:00hrs.
Tiwari said he’s anticipating an exciting competition and urge teams to register early by calling 652-9570 and, apart from the on-field action, entertainment beyond the boundary will be provided by Solid Boom and DJ Shawn.
Banks DIH Limited, Giftland OfficeMax, A&S Auto Sales, Rockaway Auto Sales and Bicycle Store, Miracle Optical, R. Ramlagan (Lil Boy) Grocery Store, Mighty Raja Taxi Service, Ocean View International Hotel, Restaurant and Bar, Metro Office and Computer Supplies and Sunil Auto Spares are the sponsors on board for the event.
According to Tiwari, another competition is in the pipeline for Independence Day at the Wales Community Centre ground.
