Golden Jaguars leave for Reggae Island

… take on Reggae Boyz tomorrow
AS PART of their preparation for their upcoming 2012 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, Guyana’s Golden Jaguars left these shores yesterday for Jamaica, where they will oppose that island’s National team known as the Reggae Boyz, in an International friendly tomorrow.
The technical staff of the Golden Jaguars team, led by Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) Technical Director Jamaal Shabazz, announced a 19-man squad that will be taking part in the friendly and later a closed-door encounter against Panama on Sunday.
The foreign-based contingent in the squad includes UK-based strikers Carl Cort and Shawn Beveney, Trinidad and Tobago-based Charles ‘Lily’ Pollard, Vurlon Mills, Colin Nelson, Ronson Williams, Kayode McKinnon and USA-based Brandon Beresford.
Other notable foreign-based players captain Chris Nurse, Gregory Richardson and John Paul “JP” Rodrigues are unavailable due to club commitments currently in the North American Soccer League and UK-based players Ricky Shakes, Leon Cort, the Newton brothers Jake and Howard, along with Chris Bourne are out.

Coach Jamaal Shabazz, Assistant Coach: Wayne Dover, Trainer: Ivan Persaud, General Manager: Rawle Adams, Assistant Manager: Mark Xavier, Goalkeeper/Coach: Andrew Hazel, Equipment Manager: Trevor Burnett, Physiotherapists: Donna Marie Wickham, Debita Harripersaud.
