– Allege that CPG member is in cahoots with criminals.
A group of bandits, said to be around four in number, Sunday invaded a dwelling house and carted off several household items and valuables.
The house and its connected business had suffered two robberies within the past year.
According to residents whose homes sit along the Logwood Old Road at Enmore, on the East Coast of Demerara, intruders, who seem to be home-grown, continue to rob citizens with impunity.
They are claiming that at around 03:00hrs last Sunday, a group of young men, who appeared to be from the area, tried to enter a business place a mere 100 yards away from where a watchman was recently murdered.
The grillwork, security apparatus, and apparent presence of the businessman in the upper flat of the building seemed to have convinced the bandits that their efforts might be severely compromised, so they left.
However, by daylight, another neighbour residing next door to the business premises revealed that the men had invaded his premises and carted off several household items.
No arrests have been made so far in connection with this incident, but police are investigating.
Frustrated residents are contending that the community policing patrol needs to be intensified, while drastic changes need to be made to the management of the policing group.
Some are alleging that a certain member of the group is engaged in checkered activities that are benefitting himself and criminal elements in the village.
They are calling on the Minister of Home Affairs to investigate their claims, and to flush out all criminally involved characters from within the unit.
Enmore residents fed up as bandits attack another business, residence.
