– Granted $120,000 bail
MAGISTRATE Hazel Octive-Hamilton granted $120,000 bail to Seon Parsram, who is charged with a $10M burglary at Crown Mining Supplies. The break and enter and larceny charge said the offence was committed between May 5 and 6, when Parsram and Kevin Hope carted off 10 bottles of mercury, 15 bottles of ‘Mapp’ gas and two impellers, all worth $10,70,000, from the company’s bond.
An arrest warrant was issued for Hope, on an application by Police Sergeant Tracymay Gittens, prosecuting.
Parsram, 17, of Lot 159 ‘B’ Field, Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was not required to plead to the indictable offence alleged at the time when he was employed as a labourer at the company.
Attorney-at-law Patrice Henry, representing Parsram, said he lives with his parents who took him to the police and observed that his associates may have gotten him into crime.
The lawyer asked the Court to take into consideration that the firm had recovered all that was stolen.
The case was transferred to another court for the fixture of a trial date.
