Bibi Gopaul’s defence counsel cross-examines forensic analyst
FORENSIC Analyst Ms. Lorraine Alleyne, from Barbados, was yesterday cross-examined by Defence Counsel Mr. Vic Puran in the Neesa Gopaul murder case. Puran is representing the victim’s mother, Bibi Gopaul.
The witness was also re-examined by Special Prosecutor Ms. Prithima Kissoon.
Earlier, Senior Counsel Bernard De Santos, who is defending the other accused, Jarvis Small, had informed the court that he would not be cross-examining the witness, since her evidence-in-chief related only to Bibi Gopaul.
Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Seenarine-Beharry, who is conducting the proceedings, adjourned the case for today.
The remains of 16-year-old Neesa Gopaul were found stuffed in a suitcase in Madewini Creek, in the vicinity of Emerald Tower Resort on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway, on October 2, 2010.
