IMAG stands in solidarity with affected GINA, NCN staffers

THE Independent Media Workers Association of Guyana (IMAG) has express concern over the recent move by parliamentary opposition parties that has seen dozens of operatives attached to the National Communications Network (NCN) and the Government Information Agency (GINA) placed on the breadline. IMAG, in a statement, said it believes this constitutes an undue attack on the State media by the parliamentary opposition collaboration.
The association states categorically that, whether it will be the withdrawal of ads of any sort or the denial of budgetary subventions because of political consideration, it must be seen as an attack on the entire media fraternity, both private and state.
IMAG said it stands in solidarity and will meet with the affected staff.
