I WAS certainly not surprised by what I read in the Sunday Stabroek News. I had mentioned in one of my letters, that the AFC was overplaying two cards.
The first, ‘give me some sympathy’; and secondly, ‘mouthing off like the main opposition party’.
I am amazed, but not surprised by AFC’s Khemraj Ramjattan ‘crying wolf’, accusing the main Opposition Leader of ‘betrayal’. What betrayal? I said in the past, that the ‘not too good feelings’ I had regarding Mr. Granger’s ability to be totally independent, are now beginning to quell, as it relates to the so-called relationship with the AFC.
I admire the fact that this unassuming man rejected twice, the advocacy of the AFC to undermine the PPP/C government; and its 2012 budget without good reason or cause.
The AFC is failing to realise, and I am specifically pointing fingers at Nagamootoo and Ramjattan, that sooner than later, all and sundry, will see right through them, even Nigel and Cathy Hughes – that their opposition, though perhaps well-meant, as a professional opposition body, is really nothing less than a personal vendetta against the government.
Forget not, that this man, like Moses Nagamootoo, is a product of the PPP/C party, and it’s ideologies, since they were young men and under the guidance and watchful eyes of the late, great Dr. Cheddi Jagan and his wife, the late President Janet Jagan. They have both come a long way since.
So, for them both to switch or change directions in the middle of play, is like watching the series, and/or the re-make of the ‘Three Stooges’, soon to hit the Box Offices.
Perhaps they ought to let Kathy, trained in communications, take the front burner for a change, though she herself has surprised me some. At least she would concentrate on the business at hand, not vengeance.
It is most difficult watching these two ‘guys’ swing from tree to tree, not knowing where they want to go, or how to get there.
These two ought to thank the likes of Granger, Cathy Hughes and others, for making them appear like ‘politicians’; and not as sheep in wolf’s clothing.
Why should Granger listen to these men singing the same old boring tune? He’s got better things to do with his time.
The man made it quite clear, he is not in the business of destruction, and he is instead, working with the government, in the interest of the people of this country,
Therefore, I must commend him for the stance he took, in the interest of the people of Guyana.
