Local referees for CONCACAF, CFU duties

GUYANA’S two leading female referees Diane Ferreira-James and Nykasie Liverpool have been selected to officiate in the CONCACAF
Under-17 Women’s Championship, May 2-12 in Guatemala City, the Confederation has announced.
The two FIFA-accredited officials will join 19 other officials for the regional finals with the top three teams advancing to the
Under-17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan from September 22 to October 13.
Liverpool will officiate in Group ‘A’ as an assistant referee with the teams being Mexico, the United States, Trinidad and Tobago and
the Bahamas. The experienced Ferreira-James who resides in the Bahamas was chosen to officiate in Group ‘B’ that comprises host nation Guatemala,
Panama, Canada and Jamaica. Ferreira-James recently refereed in the Under-20 Women’s championship and Olympic women’s qualifying finals.
Meanwhile, local FIFA referee and assistant referee Sherwin Johnson and Dion Inniss were selected to officiate in Group 5 matches of
the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club championships from April 29 to May 6 in Trinidad and Tobago.
The competing teams are Antigua Barracudas, W Connection of Trinidad and Tobago and the winners of Group Two, currently being played
in Guyana and Group Three.
