A WOMAN, 22, was remanded to prison yesterday, charged with attempting to murder her sister. Lucy-Ann Niles (no address given) appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry to face the indictable charge, which said, on April 13, she unlawfully and maliciously wounded Katina Marcy with intent to kill her.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the two sisters were involved in an argument which led to a fight.
The Prosecutor said the accused then took a knife and stabbed the virtual complainant several times in the chest and the wounded woman was rushed to a hospital where she underwent emergency surgery and is still a patient.
The Prosecutor successfully objected to bail until he can tender a report on the virtual complainant’s medical condition on April 20.
