A RESIDENT of the Night Shelter in East La Penitence, Georgetown, appeared in Court yesterday, charged with using threatening language to another inmate. Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, Wayne Green pleaded not guilty to the charge, particulars of which said, on April 13, he made the threat to Roger Persaud.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said, that day, Persaud told Green not to make so much noise and Green became upset and threatened to bore Persaud with a knife, causing the latter to become fearful.
The virtual complainant, who was present in Court, said the defendant behaves as if he is the owner of the shelter.
Green was released on his own recognisance and is to make his next Court appearance on April 23.
