DEODAT Premsukh (no address given) was alleged to have driven a motor vehicle on April 2 at Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara whilst being an unlicensed driver, thereby committing a breach of the vehicle’s insurance. He explained to Sparendaam Magistrate Alex Moore that he was doing a friend a favour by picking up the vehicle from the mechanic’s shop, which was situated only a short distance from the friend’s home.
Apart from being fined $5,000 for the offences, the man was strongly cautioned about the seriousness of his action.
