TGI releases another 5,200 metric tonnes cement on local market

Georgetown, Guyana: TCL Guyana Inc. (TGI) received 5,200 metric tonnes of cement on April 7, for subsequent delivery to the local market. This shipment, which arrived on the MV VINE 3 from the Caribbean Cement Co. Ltd. in Jamaica, TGI’s sister company, supplements the most recent consignment to the Guyanese market, wherein 5,141 metric tonnes, which also hailed from the TCL Group’s Jamaican operation, were distributed.
Arawak Cement Company Limited of Barbados, another member of the TCL Group, also continues to supply Guyana with bagged cement. Since onset of industrial action at TCL, TGI’s parent company, arrangements have been implemented to ensure that a steady supply of cement is maintained to the Guyanese market until the normal supply chain is resumed.
TGI reiterates its commitment to supplying the market with only the highest quality cement, manufactured under internationally acceptable standards. All the cement companies in the TCL Group meet and exceed the international standards for both Ordinary Portland cement and blended Portland-Pozzolan cement.
