MARLON Clarke, of Lot 348 East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday, charged with assaulting welfare officer, Nadetta Branch to cause her actual bodily harm. He pleaded not guilty to the April 2 offence.
Police Sergeant, Gordon Mansfield; prosecuting, said, that day, the virtual complainant was escorting a female juvenile whom the defendant told to run away.
Then he took a bottle and lashed the welfare officer, the prosecutor said, adding that he had no objection to bail.
The defendant was then ordered to post $15,000 surety until May 21.
