DUNDEE Mahaicony Sports Club’s Dundee Kings cricket team, currently in the third round of the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company-sponsored 10/10 softball cricket competition, will be looking to topple zone champions Mahaica Raiders this Sunday when they meet at the Helena ground. The Kings, who have won all of their preliminary matches in the tournament, will be going with all the chariot men to conquer the Raiders, making the encounter an exciting cricket match.
With eyes on winning the area zone, manager of the team, Aqubal Hussain, who spoke with Chronicle Sport, said the team have performed well so far and more is expected as they will be launching an all-out attack on the Raiders.
Hussain said that his team will be relying heavily on the batting which will be led by skipper Romain Boodram and will be fully supported by all-rounders Eion Abel and Keith Fraser, Wasim Mustapha, Bissoon Ramdeo, Tyrone English and Karan Persaud.
The Fraser/Boodram combination will exploit the Raiders’ bowling and will be looking to chalk up a substantive score for the opponents to chase, indicating that his bowling department will be ready to defend the total that is set by his batsmen.
