–instrument not found after searches
SEVERAL grade one students of the Adult Education Association (AEA) in Carmichael Street, South Cummingsburg, Georgetown were yesterday escorted to the Brickdam Police Station after a student had reported to the AEA head teacher that her Samsung cell phone, worth $12,500, was missing. When the handset had not been recovered even after several students had been searched, the head teacher called the police station and reported the matter.
The Guyana Chronicle understands that a police patrol escorted the students down to the Brickdam Police Station, where they were questioned. The phone was not recovered even after the police had searched the students’ bags. However, one student was found to have had three phones in his possession, none of which was identified as the missing instrument.
This publication’s repeated efforts to get a comment from the principal of the school yesterday proved futile, as apart from the first call, all other calls went unanswered.
