Reluctant women cause magistrate to set trial

ALISA Mayer, of ‘D’ Field, Sophia, Greater Georgetown, appeared in Sparendaam Court, East Coast Demerara, on two charges yesterday. It was alleged, before Magistrate Alex Moore, that, on March 18, at Sophia, she made use of abusive language and threatening behaviour to Trivani Haynes.
The defendant pleaded guilty to making the threat but not guilty to behaving in that manner.
Each woman gave a different account of what transpired and as they were reluctant to come to a settlement between themselves, Magistrate Moore decided to summon witnesses who would testify at a trial on June 1.
