Cheap shot at distortion

MR. Jinnah Rahman’s most recent letter is worth a response, particularly, because it establishes a pattern of convenient dishonesty on his part. It is unfortunate he started off by messing with history by suggesting the March 15 debate on President Donald Ramotar’s Ceremonial Address to the 10th Parliament was an innovation by the PPP/C Administration.
His machinations have driven him to a conspiracy theory that the debate in Parliament was designed for distraction is yet another cheap shot at distortion. Throughout Guyana’s Parliamentary history, the Head of State’s Ceremonial Address is debated as in most, if not all Commonwealth countries.
Mr. Rahman’s letter has attracted a dim review for its exhibition of his limited intellectuality and his insinuation that there was some trickery or unworthiness in carrying through with a debate of such serious nature.
