Canje murder

Police are still hunting for the man, who fatally stabbed his wife in a drunken rage at their East Canefield, Canje, Berbice, home on Tuesday night. However, a post-mortem examination performed yesterday on the body of Bibi Shameena Khairoodin by Pathologist Dr. Vivekanand Bridgemohan, who gave the cause of death as shock and hemorrhage due to gunshot injuries, laceration to the brain and fractured skull. 
The body of Bibi Shameena Khairoodin was found in her home at Canefield, Berbice on Tuesday March 20, 2012, with wounds about her body.
Meanwhile, Police yesterday said that he has gone into hiding and was at large up to press time.
Police reported that Bibi Shameena Khairoodin’s body was found in her home at about 23:25 hours on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, with suspected stab wounds.
Her reputed husband, who is the suspect, has not been arrested as yet.
He had been charged for assault committed on her on February 01, 2012, and was placed on a one-year bond by the court.
The 45-year-old Ramdani Persaud, an overseas based-Guyanese had earlier went out for ‘drinks with friends’ and returned home and had quarreled with his wife, during which, he dealt her several stabs with a knife to the body, in their bedroom even while their teenage son was at home.
He has secured the door before committing the act as such their son, who heard his mother’s screams could not reach her, and then he reportedly fled the scene leaving the mortally wounded woman lying in a pool of blood.
The woman operated a grocery store on the lower flat of their two-storey house and also tended to a kitchen garden and was said to be a quiet home maker.
She was also the victim of constant domestic abuse by her husband, whenever he consumed alcohol.
