THE swollen body of a fisherman of Lima Village, on the Essequibo Coast, was discovered in a clogged up drain near the public road at Lima at around 18:00hrs Tuesday evening. Reports said the fisherman, known as Ghansham, was an alcoholic and apparently fell into the drain while trying to cross over to his yard. The man was living alone.
After the discovery was made by a resident, a large crowd gathered at the scene to see the remains of the fisherman, said to in his early 40s.
Police , arrived on the scene about one hour later.
The swollen body was retrieved from the drain and transported to the Suddie Funeral Parlour.
The deceased has left to mourn a brother, Paulo, and other relatives.
