MOHA advises only prescribed officers can collect visa fees

THE Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) yesterday advised the general public that only the prescribed officer at the MOHA and the Immigration Officer at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Ogle, or any other official port of entry to Guyana have been authorized to collect fees chargeable for the processing or issuing of visas on arrival, extensions of stay, or work permits. The ministry is advising the general public that the official fees chargeable for visas on arrival are as follows:

Business VoA           US$140
Employment VoA      US$140
Visitors VoA             US$140
Student VoA             US$ 25

Persons found collecting or soliciting monies as a charge for facilitating the processing of visas on arrival, work permits or extensions of stay applications will be prosecuted in accordance with the law, the ministry advises.
