Good police work, anyhow

RECENTLY, the police through some brilliant intelligence work intercepted what would otherwise have been a successful drug trafficking delivery. I make mention of the 22 pounds of cocaine found in a haversack that was thrown on to the airport grounds, all ready for the next available flight. The police have busted, well I should say almost busted, a known narco-trafficking ring.

The reason why I said almost busted is the fact that no one was held responsible for the act and from all appearances no one will.

Hence, the would-be traffickers might be smiling all over that they have outsmarted the police on this one, or so it seems. You see, the police in their excitement have let the cat out of the bag by not waiting just that little while longer to nab their pick-up man.

To nail down the pick-up party is vital to them knowing the finer details of this well thought out and well executed plan. I am absolutely sure this was not the first and certainly would not be last of its kind seeing persons are seeking new and innovative ways in getting the illegal drugs through.

So, the usual ‘it wasn’t me, sir I did not see, I do not know about any illegal drugs transaction, maybe it was a phantom’, and rightly so, because no one was caught in the act. Nevertheless, I must still commend the police for their quick response. However, my advice to the force is to adopt the sleuth-hound approach which would have seen a number of persons hauled off to jail where they rightly belong. For now, the traffickers are smiling.
