Five clubs aiming to settle points at today’s matches in GFF Super league

FIVE clubs will today aim to level the points in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Super League when it continues with five matches at three venues. Victoria Kings, Seawall, BK Western Tigers, Amelia’s Ward and Buxton United will be looking to gain full point to be in level with the points standings in the league as matches will be played at Blairmont Community Centre, Beterverwagting Community Centre and MSC ground in Linden.
At Blairmont, BCC Rosignol United will be faced with the stern challenge of Pele who have secured the largest win in the league to date and will also be looking for full points to command the lead position.
BCC Rosignol who also won 3-0 over Buxton will depend heavily on their defence lineup with Roncy Caleb in goal, former national youth player Travis Henry in central defence and other support from Clifford Campbelle, Sylvester Smith and Justin Collins. Pele will see the likes of Stellon David, Marvin Joseph, Konata Manning, Solomon Austin and Calvin Shepherd.
On the East Coast at Beterverwagting, Buxton United will be looking to recover from their 3-0 loss in Berbice on Thursday when they come up against BK Western Tigers who also lost twice in one week to Milerock 3-1 in the league and Seawall in the Thomas United Anniversary tournament 1-0.
Both teams will see and evenly balanced side and will feature in Buxton lineup, Denver Dennis, Jamaal Booker, Robin Phillips Jr and Michael Phill. The Tigers will see Shermon David, Dwayne Ali, Phillip Rowley, Delon Fraser, and Devon Millington.
The supporting game will bring together Victoria Kings and defending champions Alpha United. This will be a game to see. Keen competition has always been present in the history of the league and more exciting in football is expected.
Kings lost last weekend to Pele 7-1 and will be looking to hold the champs at least to share the points if not winning.
Alpha, who won their match also, will, like Pele, be gearing for an unbeaten run and points to command the lead position and will see in their lineup Howard Lowe, Manasseh Primo, Kelvin McKenzie, Qunicy Madramootoo, Philbert Moffatt, Anthony Benfield and Chris Camacho. Kings will depend on Pierre Joseph, Eon Garnett, Kwesi and Calvin De Souza, Winston Pompey and Reuben Morris.
At the MSC ground, Milerock will face the youthful unbeaten Den Amstel and the supporting game will bring together Amelia’s Ward and Seawall.
This Linden invasion by the West Demerara clubs is expected to bring Lindeners to their feet with a new brand of football from Den Amstel and the experienced Seawall against Milerock and the Ward side.
Milerock will depend on Marlon Maxius and his support from Steve Brewley, national midfielder Jermain Grandison and Keiven Sullivan and on the other hand Den Amstel’s ace forward Andre Hector will lead his side.
In the supporting game between Amelia’s Ward and Seawall, Seawall will be fully supported by Darius Garraway, Twanie Lopes, Clement Brown and Delon Josiah.
Amelia’s Ward challenge will come from former national player Travis Waterton, supported by Jermaine Corlette, Merwin Luke and Matthew White.
Matches will commence at 13:30hrs at Beterverwagting ground, 15:30hrs at Blairmont ground and at 18:00 hrs at MSC ground.
