Three fined $75,000 each

…one on $50,000 bail, arrest warrants issued for five in police traffic sting operation
THE Guyana Police Force (GPF) yesterday disclosed that in a traffic operation conducted on Friday, March 2, nine persons were caught plying private vehicles for hire, and all were charged and placed before the court.
Four of them appeared before Magistrate Chandra Sohan yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Richard Aaron, 38, of East La Penitence, Georgetown; Martin Charles, 39, of Grove, East Bank Demerara; and Ashen Cambridge, 41, of Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara pleaded guilty and were each fined $75,000; while Calvin Calendar, 35, of Brickdam, Georgetown pleaded not guilty and was placed on $50,000 bail.
Arrest warrants have been issued for the five others.
