PNCR extends condolences to family of Robert Williams

– lauds his ‘long, dedicated and distinguished service’ to the people of Guyana
THE Leader, Chairman, members of the Central Executive and all members of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), extend condolences to the wife, Mrs Gwen Williams,
children, grand children, relatives and friends of the late Mr Robert Edward Williams, Deputy Mayor of the City of Georgetown and a Commissioner of the Guyana Elections Commission (2000 to present).
Mr. Williams has been a long serving member of the PNC/PNCR, starting as a member of the Young Socialist Movement and in many other capacities, including as Chairman of the Georgetown District and member of General Council, a Member of Parliament (1980-1986), Minister of Government under the late President L.F.S. Burnham (1980-1986), Mayor of Georgetown (1987-1989) and more recently as Deputy Mayor of the City of Georgetown (1998 to present).
The PNCR, in a condolence message, said “Mr Williams will be missed by us all for his long, dedicated and distinguished service to the people of Guyana and, in particular, the citizens of Georgetown.”
The PNCR also expressed the hope that “his soul rest in eternal peace”.
