PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, (CMC) – Stylish West Indies stroke-maker Darren Bravo and wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin both pummelled centuries on the opening day of the domestic Limited Overs league tournament here Saturday, as they warmed up for the upcoming regional first class season starting next week. The left-handed Bravo pounded an unbeaten 126 for Queen’s Park against Clarke Road while Ramdin hit an undefeated 107 for the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission against Moosai Sports.
Both players will be key components of Trinidad and Tobago’s first class campaign which gets going against Combined Campuses in Colleges in Barbados on Friday.
Playing at Queen’s Park Oval, Bravo carved out six fours and seven sixes as the hosts posted 301 for seven off their 50 overs.
He was supported by former West Indies right-hander Runako Morton who got 66.
In reply, Clarke Road were bowled out for a paltry 140 off 36 overs with Guyanese Troy Gonzales scoring 38.
West Indies off-spinner Sunil Narine claimed three for 33 while left-arm slow bowler Marlon Barclay took three for four towards the end.
In Group at the UWI grounds, Moosai Sports scored a competitive 253 for six off their 50 overs with Anthony Jawahir hitting 50 and seamer Rayad Emrit taking three for 55.
Ramdin then guided T&TEC home with a well paced innings as they won by five wickets with 13 balls to spare.
