I WISH to congratulate the Hon.Minister in the Agriculture Ministry,  Ali Baksh for his initial step to launch an outreach programmed on his appointment to the office of the Ministry of Agriculture. As we all know, this is an important area to govern  in our country. It is very  important for him to  familiarize himself with the actual geography  and farmers of our land.
I can tell you that my info tells me that people are very pleased to meet with the minister to discuss issues related to the future of agriculture in our country. The new GMC will have to devise methods to start purchasing products from farmers and seek markets for such, as this might be the only way farmers could hope for a better day..
Take for example the Venezuela market for rice which was organized by the government of Guyana. The rice farmers can now enjoy good prices from the millers because of the market. I therefore urge Minister Baksh to keep up the programmes he started. I also wish him good luck in his tenure as Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture.
