THE police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 07:50hrs on Wednesday last, at Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke/ Linden Highway, and which resulted in the death of pedal cyclist Ronville Roberts, 55, of Kuru Kururu. Investigations revealed that the driver of motor lorry GLL 319 was proceeding along the highway, when it is alleged that he reversed the vehicle and struck down the cyclist.
Roberts was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Roberts was a security guard attached to Barama Company. He had worked the night shift and was on his way home when he was killed.
