PATRICK Mingo (no address given) appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday, on a charge of receiving stolen property. He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on January 15, he received, from Oliver Franklyn, a quantity of gold jewellery, valued at $450,000, belonging to Abdul Khan, knowing it to be stolen or unlawfully obtained.
At the request of defence counsel Vic Puran, for reasonable bail, it was granted at $100,000 and the case was put off to January 26.
