Banks DIH Beach Football League action continues

MORE of the action in the Banks DIH Beach Football League continued over the weekend and last week with exciting matches at the Christianburg Ground, Linden.
On Sunday the third round of the tournament saw a vast improvement in the quality of the sport.
Game one gave a perfect start to the evening as the Development Team and Vasco played to a 6-6 draw.
Ryan Crandon, who led the Development team scored a hat-trick in the 12th, 15th and 24th minutes and was supported by Allister Johnson (2nd and 28th) and Randy Small (4th).
Vasco’s goals came off the boot of Trevorn Frank (3rd, 26th), Michael Wilson (4th, 13th) and Jason Allicock (25th) while Crandon scored an own goal in the 27th minute.
In Thursday’s action Vasco got past Cool Runnings 5-3 as doubles came from Jason Alicock and Michael Wilson while Lennox Allicock supported with a goal.
Cool Runnings’ scorers were Ralph Alexander who struck in the 17th minute and Steve Brewley and Kennard Simon who scored in the 22nd and 23rd minutes respectively.
In game three the Development Team thrashed Wisroc 9-2 with Randy Small leading the way with a helmet-trick as his teammate Johnson recorded a hat-trick and Ryan Crandon scored a double.
Wisroc had consolation goals coming from Oslyn Hope who scored twice.
Blue Berry Hill squeezed past Silver Shattas by 5 goals to 3 as BB Hill had Melvin Benn, Brinsley Ward, Alavado Lewis and Devon Caesar who scored with a double, overshadowing goals scored by Deshwan Freeman, Robin Adams and Damion Williams.
The other match of the day was the Top 25/Eagles match which ended in an exciting 3-3 draw.
After three rounds the Development Team lead with seven points, Vasco have 5, Cool Runnings, BB Hill and Top 25 are on 4 while Eagles and Silver Shattas have 3. The tournament continues on Thursday January 19 with round four.
