A MIXED jury has been sworn, before Justice Brassington Reynolds, for the trial at the Berbice Assizes of Shawn Tyndall called Arthur or Asha, of Manchester, Corentyne, who is indicted for the murder of his lover, Camille Medina De Jonge. The victim, a weeder employed by the East Berbice Sugar Estates, was discovered dead in her bed with a gaping wound to the neck, at Mc Gowan Street, Manchester.
The discovery of her lifeless body was made by her children who were attempting to wake her. The cause of death is recorded as shock and haemorrhage, resulting from a neck wound.
But the accused has denied the allegation that he unlawfully killed the woman between Sunday 24 and Monday 25 September, 2008.
Defence counsel, Raymond Ali is appearing opposite State Prosecutor, Rhondell Weaver.
The case will continue on Tuesday January 17.
