GUYANA Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T) employee Jourard Wright known as ‘Blackie’  was remanded to prison on Monday, after an indictable charge of attempted murder was read to him by Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo in New Amsterdam Court, Berbice, last Monday. The 27-year-old maintenance workman is accused of having, on January 5, in company with another, inflicted grievous bodily harm on Corwayne Duff.
Duff, was allegedly bound and set afire following reports of sheep theft and he is currently in the High Dependency Unit (HDU) at Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Wright, of Lot 248 Tucber Park, New Amsterdam, is expected back in court on January 27.
