…through School of the Nations
AT a presentation ceremony on Friday last, Ming’s Products and Services Limited (MPS) donated one million dollars to School of the Nations to pay for educating the youths of the Tiger Bay community. Managing Director of MPS, Mr. Stanley Ming made the donation in person, and added that he sees the contribution as an opportunity to invest in the future of tomorrow’s young generation. Ming said he is excited about what he and the School of the Nations are doing, since it would assist in developing that community.
For some time now, Ming’s Products and Services have been supportive of that school and its initiative to assist in educating youths of the Tiger Bay community. Mr. Ming said he would continue to fully support the initiative, and declared himself no stranger to the Tiger Bay area, saying that he has been long involved in service there.
For the past two years, more than one hundred persons from the Tiger Bay area have been going to School of the Nations in the afternoons for a variety of activities, including literacy classes, mentoring programme, parent education classes, computer classes, learning to play steel pans, and sports programmes.
Dr. Brian O’Toole received the contribution on behalf of the school, and his wife Mrs. Pamela O’Toole disclosed that the school was indeed appreciative of the MPS’ generous gesture and that the contribution would be well spent on expanding the knowledge of the younger children in the community.
