A 72-year-old pedal cyclist involved in a motor vehicular accident at the corner of Norton and Hardina Streets on Wednesday, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday at the Georgetown Public Hospital. Dead is Morris Albert De Caires, of Waterloo Street, Georgetown.
According to a police report, on Wednesday, around 14:30hrs, De Caires was riding his cycle along Norton Street, and was attempting to turn into Hardina Street, when he was struck down by motor lorry GKK 7893.  He was rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the GPH where he remained a patient under doctors’ close surveillance, but died the following day.
Police are investigating.
