I CATEGORICALLY and unambiguously declare that Guyana has the most unique character in Freddie Kissoon. The man is hideously conspicuous (not necessarily his visage, but maybe that too). He makes assertions and wants to be known as a scholar and critic, but he has no audience. His odium in society is shocking. He is seeking attention, and he sometimes gets it (never mind it is a mocking one). Sometimes I feel sorry for him. He needs help, and I hope someone will do just that – help him.
One person who can help him is the former president, Bharrat Jagdeo. Even though Jagdeo is not the current leader of Guyana, he still has this strangle hold on Freddie. For example, Freddie Kissoon actually wrote that: “My proposal is that the former Guyanese President, Bharrat Jagdeo be given the job.” (Cf. Is CARICOM or the UN going to intervene in Guyana cricket now? January 3, 2012 Knews).
Freddie was of course trying to be facetious and sarcastic. In trying to start a joke, the joke fell on him. Too bad!
I mean with the former president out of the picture, Freddie Kissoon’s psyche is still in a boyish, subservient and catamitish adoration of his idol. He seems confused though since Bharrat Jagdeo is ignoring him – for over twelve years now.
So I guess he will continue to suffer.
I personally think his suffering is because he cannot command the attention of the intelligentsia. His claim to be an academic and political analyst is most flatulent – the nature of his little ‘hi-school’ compositions. Freddie’s problems are so serious, that he ‘jealously hates’ those who admire the recent out-going leader.
Here are a few of the elite: ‘Sir Sridath Ramphall, Mr. Rickey Singh, Dr. Raj Pachauri, Lord Stern, etc.’ I think the point is well made.
May someone help Freddie Kissoon – he has been ignored for too long.
True to nature and form
