MINISTER of Local Government and Regional Development Ganga Persaud yesterday met with Regional Executive Officers and Engineers from the various Regional Democratic Councils (RDCs) at the ministry in Fort Street, Kingston. He was joined by Minister within the Ministry of Local Government Minister Norman Whittaker, Permanent Secretary Collin Croal and support staff from the ministry.
Minister Persaud told the Chronicle that the intention of the meeting was to measure how best the regional work programmes could collectively be completed.
The meeting also served the purpose of ensuring that all financial mechanisms are in place.
Persaud said the appointments of regional chairmen, and other officials, would have also formed part of the discussions.
