New Jersey Mandir presents clothing, toys, to less fortunate children in Berbice

PRESIDENT of the New Jersey Arya Samaj Mandir Inc. Humanitarian Mission, Pandit Suresh Sugrim, yesterday said that the less fortunate children of Berbice were treated with a meal, gifts and a social at which they danced on Christmas Day.
He added that the Mission, in partnership with Food for the Poor (Guyana), made it possible to present the children with various toys.
Pandit Sugrim noted that he and his team went to Crabwood Creek, Little Africa, and No. 77 Village, Corriverton, Berbice, where the children were presented with toys, money, clothing, foodstuff, and a meal, as they interacted with the Mission’s volunteers.
They were also in other areas where they reached out to underprivileged children and presented toys to them.
Pandit Sugrim promised to make this an annual event.
He noted that the Mission will continue to make an impact in a good way in the lives of people who are in need of basic commodities such as groceries and clothing, raising funds for this programme both locally and overseas.
Pandit Sugrim told the Guyana Chronicle yesterday that when the children got their toys, it was wonderful to see their faces light up with happiness.
