GUYANA Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T) announced yesterday that it is working towards giving the Guyanese public an unforgettable Christmas and a New Year filled with much success. The announcement was made by the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Yog Mahadeo, at a press conference in the company’s Brickdam, Georgetown Head Office.
He reported that this year has been a very successful one for the utility, since the beginning and everything will be done to ensure that it ends on the same positive note.
Mahadeo reminded that the grand finale of GT&T Jingle and Song Competition will be hosted tonight at the National Cultural Centre and the winner would be made known on the same occasion.
“We will announce also how we plan to move ahead with the top performers and name the winner of the competition,” he said.
The grand finale of the Bollywood Segment of the contest is scheduled to kick off on January 6, 2012, at Albion Sports Complex, Corentyne, Berbice, with a mega Chutney Concert, led by the Karma Band from Trinidad.
Mahadeo invited the public to be part of GT&T’s magical night of Christmas, on Thursday, being hosted at the National Park, where thousands of gifts will be distributed to children amidst carols singing.
He also disclosed that, this Friday, the winner of the Christmas Wish Promotion will be revealed and “there will also be a game show, one that is similar to that of ‘deal or no deal’ and there will be another on ‘what’s in the bag.’
Mahadeo said GT&T is also planning to start the New Year with the blessing of the Almighty and, as such, will be hosting a mega gospel concert on January 20, featuring popular gospel singer Donnie Mc Clurkin.
