Police report another Molotov cocktail attack on Philomena Sahoye-Shury
FOR the second time in less than two weeks, a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the home of People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) member Philomena Sahoye-Shury. A Police release said it was around 00:15 hrs yesterday that the explosive was hurled at the Sheriff and Canje Streets, Campbellville house.
But the device failed to ignite and no damage was done to the building.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, at about 08:45 hrs on Thursday, December 8, the remnants of a broken and unlit similar contraption were found between two motor vehicles on the premises of ‘Buy Me Auto Sales’ on Garnett Street, Kitty.
The Police said, while they are unaware who might be behind the incident, they assured that investigations are being carried out to bring clarity to the matter.
On December 5, Molotov cocktails were also lobbed at the residence of Presidential Advisor on Empowerment, Odinga Lumumba.
A Police release said the incident occurred at Lumumba’s Meadow Brook home, also in Georgetown, around 02:00hrs that day.
The release said the devices struck the bottom western wall of the edifice, resulting in a small fire that scorched it before being extinguished by the security guard on duty.
No one was arrested in either case but investigations are continuing.
