Time to stop this race-based trash talk

AFTER reading this letter in Guyana Chronicle dated December 04 2011 I must respond to what was mentioned in this Red Thread letter. “Election results the basis for betterment.” Written by AMERINDIAN PEOPLES ASSOCIATION (APA), CHURCH WOMEN UNITED (CWU), COMMONGROUND, COMMUNITY-BASED REHABILITATION-EBD, GUYANA COUNCIL OF CHURCHES (GCC), GUYANA HUMAN RIGHTS ASSOCIATION (GHRA), GUYANA SOCIETY
FOR THE BLIND, RIGHTS OF CHILDREN (ROC), RED THREAD: “THE results of the General Elections of 2011 can be viewed either as producing the continuation of the past with solid ethnic voting blocs and the continuation of the PPP government into its fifth term or more positively, as producing winners all round and providing a basis for re-invigorating political life in Guyana.
The PPP retained the Presidency and the largest vote (48.6%), the APNU improved on the PNC/R’s share of votes in the 2006 election (from 34% to 40%) and seats (22 to 26) through a creative coalit i o n . The Alliance for Change (AFC), although apparently a casualty of ethnic voting, raised its number of seats from five to seven. In this  respect, the parties can take satisfaction from the results and Facing the Future (FtF) extends congratulations to them. For the first time since 1964 the People’s Progressive
Party (PPP) has not, according to credible observers, won a majority of the votes cast . There -sultsare, therefore, of much historical significance. “Solid ethnic voting bloc and the continuation of PPP government into its fifth term in office.” “For the first time since 1964 the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has not, according to credible  observers, won a majority of the votes cast?” “The Alliance for Change (AFC), although apparently a casualty of ethnic voting, raise dits number of seats from five to seven.” Editor where are the brains of these people and why do they not speak the truth for once in their life time on how from 1964 to 1992 how PNC Burnham and Hoyte came to power.
Since Red Thread wants to talk about ethnic voting then they must tell the Guyanese people which ethnic voter installed Burnham and Hoyte to power to rule “misrule” for 28 years.
It was one ethnicity that installed Burnham and Hoyteto rule “ misrule ” Guyana and that ethnicity was White. A white Prime Minister of London England and a white President of United States of America and not the ethnic group these people are talking about. The people of Guyana from all ethnicities never stood a ghost of a chance against the whites who installed Burnham and Hoyte to rule “misrule” Guyana. So these people must now stop this race-based trash talk about which party lost or which party won or which party gained because ethnic voting. The bottom line is die hard Indians will forever vote for PPPC.
The bottom line is die hard blacks will forever vote for PNC. Now to the AFC. With Indian Ramjattan at the helm he gained a few disgruntled PPPC supporters like the last election when Trotman was at the helm the AFC drew a few disgruntled PNC supporters.
Next election the AFC role will reverse where Trotman will be back at the helm and he will draw back those disgruntled PNC supporters while the Indians that voted for  Ramjattan will go back to PPP/C. Why did Guyanese never heard of race based or ethnic voting before 1992?‘ Make no mistake that the white ethnic group that installed PNC to power will never again install any government in Guyana ever again. Time has come to stop this race-based trash talk in the media and let Guyanese decide which
political party they choose to belong to and want to vote for.
