Police hold two suspects in Garden of Eden armed robbery

Two men are in police custody following a daring armed robbery of $1.5M from Raphael Bagot, while he was parked in his vehicle at Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara, on Friday last. Police reported that at about 18:15hrs, Bagot, 25, of Kuru Kuru, Soesdyke/Linden Highway, was in his motor vehicle when he was held up by a man armed with a firearm who took away $1.5M from the vehicle and escaped in a waiting motor car.
A relative of Raphael Bagot came up shortly after and they gave chase behind the getaway vehicle PLL 7395 and caught up with it at Second Street, Craig, East Bank Demerara.
They managed to apprehend the suspect, while three other men who were in the vehicle escaped.
The suspect was handed over to the police who also detained the motor car used by the perpetrators.
Later, a man reported to the police at Golden Grove Station and said that he had been attacked and robbed of the vehicle earlier.
He has been arrested, and along with the suspect, is in police custody assisting with investigations.
