THE Voice of Faith Miracle Ministries Church, at Devonshire Castle on the Essequibo Coast, has added its congratulations to Mr. Donald Ramotar on being elected President of Guyana. A release from the church said all Guyanese should cooperate and work together to build this country which belongs to all of its people.
Quoting the Holy Bible, the release said:“We must all respect those in authority over us. A call is, therefore, made to all Christians to pray for all the leaders of this country, despite whichever political party they belong.”
Noting that Ramotar will be sworn in today, the release continued: “Let us all respect the man who will lead us to prosperity and a better life in the coming years.”
The church is also calling on protestors to stop roaming the streets of Georgetown and let peace prevail. “The elections are over; there is a new President and shortly a new Cabinet. Let us cooperate and show our love and concern for every Guyanese. This is Christmas time and persons from all over the country want to visit the capital city to do shopping and other business.
“For the sake of all Guyanese, especially business owners in downtown, Georgetown, the Church is asking for all Christians to get together and pray that our streets in the capital city will be free from protestors, rioters and looters. May the hand of God rest over Guyana and may the leaders make good, sound decisions to move the country forward in peace, understanding, cooperation and unity.
“May God bless our country, the land of many waters and six races, living peacefully together,” the release added.
