PRIME Minister Samuel Hinds yesterday presented, in his office, the third place trophy and prize money of $500 000 to the executives of the Kashif & Shanghai Organisation, ahead of the commencement of the 22nd Annual Kashif & Shanghai knockout football tournament.
The tournament will see twenty clubs – two of which will be from overseas – in this tournament which has attracted over $6M Guyana dollars in prize money
At the simple ceremony held at his Wight’s Lane office in Kingston, co-Director of Kashif & Shanghai, Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major expressed thanks to the Prime Minister for his donation towards the tournament and wished Mr Hinds success in the upcoming elections.
Major stated that the Prime Minister has been a donor towards the tournament for over 16 years and the organisation is been very delighted. The tournament is set to kick off in about 16 days’ time.
