AFC’s Sheila Holder dies

Vice Chairman of the Alliance For Change, Sheila Holder, died last evening after losing a battle with stomach cancer, a senior party official confirmed. Ahead of a formal statement by the AFC, party leader Raphael Trotman told Demerara Waves Online News (www.demwaves.com ) that:
“The Party is in deep pain and sorrow tonight as we have lost our sister, colleague, comrade and friend. We refused to believe that her illness would lead to untimely death, even though knowing the gravity of the illness.
Her indomitable spirit will live on. The timing of her death is significan, as it comes on the very eve of elections. The AFC will dedicate its campaign and victory to the life and works of Sheila Holder. She would have wanted us to push ahead.” (Demerara Waves)
