TOSHOA of Mashabo, in Region 2 (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Slyvin Raphael said he and other residents are very thankful to Food for the Poor (Guyana) Incorporated for a housing project that is currently under construction.
He said they are very excited and thanking God, too, for the new houses in their community.
According to him, 30 houses have already been built but, when the scheme is completed, 50 families will have new homes in time for the Christmas holidays.
Raphael said the housing scheme is located along the banks of the Ituribisi and stretches for more than two miles.
He said the beneficiaries cleared the land by self-help.
Meanwhile, Food for the Poor commissioned another housing project at Tapakuma recently.
