A SECURITY guard accused of beating his room mate was placed on $30,000 bail yesterday. Jermaine Peters pleaded not guilty to assaulting Trevor Bailey to cause him actual bodily harm, on November 9.
Peters, allegedly, beat Bailey for making noise while the former was asleep.
Police Sergeant Neville Jeffers, prosecuting, told Magistrate Sueanna Lovell that the defendant shared an apartment with the virtual complainant and two other friends.
The prosecutor said the defendant went to sleep but was awakened by noise made by the other occupants.
He became annoyed, took off his belt and dealt the virtual complainant and another person several lashes about their bodies, the prosecutor said.
Peters is expected back in court on November 17.
