HERNANDO Allicock (no address given) appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell yesterday, on a charge of escaping from lawful custody. He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on October 17, while being a prisoner at Brickdam Police Station, in Georgetown, pending a charge of receiving stolen articles, he made his escape from the lock-ups.
Police Sergeant Neville Jeffers, prosecuting, told the Court Allicock pushed away a policeman and fled from the cell.
The defendant, however, claimed he was released.
He was granted $25,000 bail until November 16.
