A SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD lad, of Somerset and Berks, who committed suicide, was cremated on La Union foreshore, in an atmosphere of grief and sadness yesterday. The student, who attended Charity Secondary School, drank a poisonous substance some 22 days ago, because a girl with whom he was in love did not speak to him.
Reports said the lovesick deceased, Chanderpaul Indal known as Navin, did not tell his parents that he had ingested the poison but, after he fell ill with high fever and was rushed to Suddie Hospital, also on Essequibo Coast, he confessed his fatal action to doctors.
He died on Monday at Suddie Hospital.
